DescriptionWeak circumpolar constellation, between Hydrus and Volans. Its brightest stars are of fifth magnitude; the only remarkable object is the Large Magellanic Cloud that trespasses from the near Dorado.

Mythology
and history
The constellation was drawn by Nicolas Louis de La Caille in 1756. It represents the Table Mountain, near the Cape of Good Hope, where La Caille sojourned since 1750 to 1754.
