| Description | Not very important constellation, between Grus and Pavo. Remarkable is theta Indi, a double star separable with small telescopes, composed by two stars of fifth and seventh magnitude. | ||||
| Mythology and history | The constellation was drawn by the Dutch navigators Pieters Dirkszoon Keyser and Frederik de Houtman towards the end of the XVI century. It represents an Indian armed with lances or arrows as if he were going hunting. | ||||
