DescriptionWeak constellation of the southern hemisphere, to the south of Eridanus.

The only remarkable object is R Horologii, a red giant which has a notable variability: it oscillates in fact from the fifth magnitude to the fourteenth with a period of about 400 days.


Mythology
and history
The constellation was drawn by Nicolas Louis de La Caille in 1756. It represents a pendulum-clock.
